June 2008 - Physiotherapist Susan Wakeley successfully completed her Intermediate Manual Therapy examinations. This qualification is recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapists (IFOMT). Congratulations Susan! Susan is also on the planning committee for the June 18th "HOG JOG", a run that raises funds for supporting the Alzheimer Society.
7 May 2008 - Integrative Healthcare Centre holds "Healthy Gardening - an evening of talks and demonstrations relating to gardening. Dr. Iris Marshall(stretching), Grant Hernden (strengthening), Marilyn Holmes(safety), Kerry Hackett(herbs for health).
18 January 2008 - Dr. Rawson ran a scanning clinic for chronic pain clients to assess their suitability for his program of care. Dr. Rawson uses motor reflex testing to determine if the TMJ disorder is the primary condition for the individual.
December 2007 - Jenn Musselman (BioPed) received her new certification as a Certified Pedorthist C Ped (C) to go with her C Ped (C) Tech certification. Congratulations!
26 November 2007 - Dr. David E. Rawson of the TMJ and Sleep Therapy Centre (London) presented a staff in-service, outlining the services he provides for TMJ disorders, orofacial pain and sleep disorders.
2 November 2007 - Diane Hernden Lifestyle Fitness and Sport has recently been certified as a Cancer Exercise Specialist. She provides lifestyle programs aimed at lowering the risk of cancer, as well as exercise for cancer patients undergoing treatment and those who have finished treatment. The aim is to achieve positive emotional balance and increased feelings of physical wellbeing.
21 October 2007 - Susan Wakeley, Physiotherapy Associates of Stratford, participated in the Detroit Free Press marathon and ran a time of 3:54:45. This is her 6th marathon!
10 July 2007 - Integrative Healthcare Centre and Physiotherapy Associates of Stratford were recognized as a Job Placement Educator and participated in MedQUEST Health Career Exploration Camp "Job Shadow Day" (sponsored by University of Western Ontario Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry). Two high school students got a first-hand look at the various professional practices at the Centre.
